Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluations
Scheduled and performed by a licensed and experienced Doctor of Audiology. These evaluations may be covered by insurance, but discuss with our office to learn more.
Tinnitus Evaluation and Management
Tinnitus is often described as a ringing in the ear and can range in severity. A tinnitus evaluation by a Doctor of Audiology, specializing in tinnitus, can help to identify the cause of your tinnitus, the impact on your life and discuss treatment options that can benefit you.
Hearing Aid Evaluation and Selection
During a hearing aid evaluation, Audiologist will discuss different hearing aid styles, colors, technologies and benefits. Your specialist will help you select the right hearing aid for your personal needs. Custom impressions may be taken of your ears, depending on the style of hearing device chosen.
Hearing Aid Dispensing and Fitting
At the hearing aid fitting, you will receive the hearing aids you selected. They are programmed based on a prescription that is specific to each person’s hearing loss. Your Audiologist may make adjustments after you try the hearing aids to make sure the settings and fit are ideal for you.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Some minor hearing aid repairs can be done in the office setting in a short period of time; others will need to be sent to the manufacturer for repair. Our Doctor of Audiology can help determine what kind of a repair is necessary if you feel your hearing aid is not working properly.
Cerumen Removal (Ear Cleaning)
Cerumen, or earwax, can be removed from the ear canal so that it does not interfere with listening or comfort, especially for individuals who wear hearing aids. Instruments, irrigation, suction is used based on each patient's needs. We observe the CDC requirements for the safety of our patients.
Dizziness & Vertigo Evaluations
Videonystagmography evaluates the function of the vestibular portion of the inner ear for patients who are experiencing symptoms of vertigo, unsteadiness, dizziness and other balance disorders. Hearing evaluation tests are frequently combined with vestibular studies for the identification of inner ear disorders.
Live Speech Mapping
Live speech mapping is a test used to help during the hearing aid fitting process. Live speech mapping uses probe microphones and live real-time speech to allow the patient and their family members to immediately see and understand the benefits of hearing aids and fitting adjustments. Although this clinical tool is only employed in approximately 40% of hearing clinics, it can significantly assist the audiologist in customizing the hearing aids, therefore, providing maximum benefit to the patient's hearing needs.
Custom Earmolds and Earplugs
Since the various systems produce different hearing impressions, it is important for you to make a comparison yourself. For this purpose we will produce custom-made earmolds based on the exact contours of your ears. We can then ensure that your hearing aid fits perfectly.
Musician's Earplugs and Monitors
Musicians practice and perform in a variety of different settings. They are exposed to high levels of sound, sometimes for long periods, which may put them at risk for permanent hearing damage. Musician’s earplugs help to limit the sound exposure from instruments, while still providing a rich musical experience for the performer or audience. Being an amateur musician since 1989 allows Dr. Marghzar to provide most musicians with appropriate earplugs or in-the-ear monitors.
